You can mark them as a no-show inside the app. That counts on their record and affects who they get matched with next. If you get no-showed twice, we credit you a priority match the next time you open the app. We don't refund anything — there's nothing to refund, the matching itself is free.

Leave. Don't explain, don't finish the set, just go. You don't owe a stranger your safety. Once you're out, hit the in-app report button — that flags the match and triggers a review. For an active emergency, call your local emergency number first, then report to us. We can suspend an account fast; we can't replace the police.

No. We're going to be honest about this. Sweatty verifies your phone number with a one-time SMS code. A liveness photo check (you, holding a code, in real time) is in build and is not yet active in the pilot. We do not run criminal background checks. Most platforms that claim to don't run them either, or run them in only one country.

What we do instead: phone verification, trust scores built from partner ratings, reports by email that a real person reads, and a strong default of meeting at a public gym or park for first sessions. Meet in public. Trust your gut. Tell a friend where you'll be. If that's not enough for you, Sweatty isn't the right product yet, and that's a fair call.

Five signals: rough location, sport, level, schedule overlap, language. We rank candidates by how well your active times overlap and how close your stated level is. Photos are never used for ranking. There's a fuller breakdown on the How it works page.

Yes — at any time, no explanation needed. The other person is told you ended the match, not why. If you block someone, they won't see you in their pool again and you won't see them.

You go on a waitlist for your area and sport. We'll email you when there's a real match in your radius — not a "5km if you stretch the definition" match. Early on, density is honest: London and the UAE will have more matches than smaller cities. We'd rather wait than fake a thin pool.

No. They see your rough area (postcode or borough), the venue you've both agreed to, and nothing else. We never share home addresses, GPS pins, or your daily movement.

No. Sweatty doesn't take a cut of who pays for the gym, the court, or the coffee after. Membership is free while the pilot runs. The only money that will move through Sweatty is for coach sessions, paid in the app once coaches open bookings, which has not happened yet. Partner sessions are between you and your partner.

One step inside the app today: confirm your phone number with a code. Email confirmation is in build. A further step — a short liveness selfie holding a code on screen, matched against your profile photo and then deleted — is in build and is not yet active in the pilot.

Yes. Add as many as you actually do. Each sport has its own level and its own schedule, because someone might be advanced at climbing and a true beginner at running. We match per-sport, not per-person, so your padel matches won't be skewed by your gym profile.

Settings → Account → Delete account. One tap, one confirmation, done. Your profile and message history are removed within 7 days. We keep anonymous, aggregated stats (e.g. "how many sessions happened in London in May") because they don't identify you. If you'd rather we wipe everything by hand, email hello@sweattyapp.com.
